Kaya Press 2012 catalog

With their new catalog, publisher of Asian and Asian-American literature Kaya Press wanted to both announce their move to Los Angeles and stress the substantiality of their printed works. We accomplished both tasks by upsetting the traditional, staid approach to an independent press catalog and, instead, created a glossy, image-led piece. We took the books out on the town and shot them like models in space (with all photography by The Royal Academy). This stresses that they are not just repositories of narratives and ideas sitting quietly on the shelf but rather agents acting in and upon the world.
